Tokens
Identify tokens by network and full contract, mint, or asset identifier—not by name, symbol, or logo alone.
Asset types
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Native coin | Belongs to a blockchain and normally pays that network's fees. |
| Fungible token | Issued using a network-specific contract, mint, or asset standard. |
| Bridged token | A representation on another network with its own identifier and liquidity. |
Add a token
- 1Open Tokens and select Add token.
- 2Select the network.
- 3Search by name or paste the exact contract, mint, or asset identifier.
- 4Verify the network, full identifier, symbol, and decimals against an official source.
- 5Select Add.
What adding a token does
Adding a token generally changes what Wavel displays. It does not move the asset. Later activity can require gas, an approval, a token account, storage, or rent.
Unsupported assets
If Wavel cannot display a token standard or its metadata, the asset may still exist on-chain and remain accessible through another compatible wallet using the same recovery phrase.
